"... drawn to an expressive approach"

Sally Watson

After a career in marketing and video/film production, Sally decided to spend time making her own art as well as continuing to appreciate the work of others. A chance view of an advert on FB took her to Art Academy East where she spent a happy two years during lockdown exploring many different media and gaining a UAL Diploma in Art & Design.

Sally is drawn to an expressive approach, favouring gestural strokes and mark-making, often incorporating collage pieces from her sketchbook into the layers of her works which explore the landscape and changing seasons across the beautiful countryside around her.

Sally works most often in acrylics, both paints and inks, but also loves watercolour and uses her own hand-printed papers for collage work.

She has exhibited in several group shows in Norfolk and is an active member of the Wymondham Art Society.
