"Capturing the power and essence of equine beauty"
Fiona Gordon
“I have been passionate about horses since a young age. I grew up in Australia where my sisters and I would spend our holidays on farms and sheep stations. I was always trying to capture horses’ beauty and strength using any medium I had at my disposal. I followed my passion when I left school and studied at an Art College in the UK for four years, specialising in Illustration. I have exhibited in Chelsea, London and locally in East Anglia.”
“I have worked on illustrations for publishing and I have completed many commissions, it is always a joy to present the finished portrait.”
“Fiona has preserved a special memory for us, the way she captures the likeness and character of her subjects, especially the eyes, is exceptional, I don’t know how she does it!” H. Moon
“It is important to me that you, the observer, are looking at a drawing with visible pencil strokes. I am not aiming for photographic realism. For me it is about improving on a reference and evoking an emotion or a memory. The majority of my fine art work is based on my own experiences and references and my work is often accompanied by a video link to my artistic journey. The exception being my work on the iconic stallion Picasso where I was inspired by Scott Wilson’s photography.”
