"... loves to create colourful, vibrant abstract artwork"
Jane Aldridge
From an early age Jane has loved colour, pattern, letter forms and script. These all appear in her work in abundance.
Her abstract art takes you on a colourful journey across the canvas, with rich deep colours built up layer upon layer, and little trickles of delicate lines. Jane has a passion for gold and other metallics, and these will sometimes show up in her abstract work.
Some pieces use script and calligraphy as a starting point, with colour and metallics added as she works, creating beautiful meditative pieces.
At other times Jane likes to work quietly with a dip pen drawing animals which then are incorporated into her collection of greeting cards.
Jane also loves to take her sketchbook to a coffee shop or outdoors, en plein air, where she can sit quietly sketching tree forms or people walking past.
Her recent work is her tree paintings where she has been exploring different ways to portray the trees’ shapes and forms, as well as the feelings that being near trees brings to her.
