Yorkshire and Music are at the heart of Ruth’s creativity. The solitude of remote, wild places. The joy of singing. The freedom of a 1950’s childhood where whole days of roaming free and exploring were unremarkable and fun.
A career in psychotherapy followed much the same pattern, and her work now continues this exploration of unplanned paths in her experimentation across several media. For the bell gallery, Ruth has selected work which reflects her love of wildness, the forms and colours of the natural world and locations where quiet solitude is possible.
Ruth’s work has been represented by galleries in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Yorkshire, and at present by Gallery East, Woodbridge and UK Artists online. Her work has been exhibited in the Mall Galleries and Bankside Gallery (RWS), London, and is collected in Europe, USA and Australia.
