Diana is a figurative artist, raised in Edinburgh and now happily settled in the Broadland village of Salhouse, Norfolk. She has always been drawn to depicting the human form, sketching people throughout her life. Whilst she likes working with a variety of media, most recently she has been exploring the expressive potential of oil paint and colour to add emotional impact to portraiture. Although her first interest is in getting a likeness, she also strives for a psychological sense of the sitter.
For Diana, portraiture is about capturing a moment in time and so she particularly enjoys working from life where possible. She attends regular life drawing and portrait groups and is an active member of the Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle where she is a regular exhibitor.
